Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from the central Pilbara into the Gascoyne combined with a
high pressure ridge pushing in from the west is bringing fresh southwesterly
winds over the western Pilbara until early next week. Elsewhere, the trough
from the central Pilbara also extends east into the Interior. A tropical low
02U is expected to develop over offshore waters to the west of the Kimberley or
north of the Pilbara coasts by Monday and is forecast to move west southwest
and remain well offshore during next week. Another tropical low 05U may form
north of the Kimberley next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge should persist south of WA whilst a low pressure trough sits near the
west coast. The trough will move inland on Monday before another trough
develops down the west coast from mid next week.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 8 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, central and
eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and most parts of the
South West Land Division. Possible heavy falls with thunderstorms over northern
and central parts, isolated moderate to heavy falls possible in central parts
of the South West Land Division and Goldfields. Windy morning over southeastern
and central parts, and over the Darling Scarp.Very hot over the west Pilbara,
west Gascoyne and inland Central West district.

Forecast for Monday 9 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara,
northeastern Gascoyne, northeast Southeast Coastal district, Goldfields and
Eucla. Possible heavy falls with thunderstorms over the central Interior.
Chance of showers over remaining southern districts. Hot to very hot northern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 10 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
north and east Goldfields and Eucla. Possible showers over the remaining
Goldfields, and southeastern South West Land Division. Windy over southern
parts. Hot to very hot northern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 11 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and central Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at
times over central and southeastern parts. Hot to very hot over most parts of
the South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
