Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge south of the State is directing east to southeasterly
winds across much of northern WA, pushing the surface trough offshore from the
Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. Over the weekend the ridge will weaken with the
surface trough moving south back over the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over the south of the State is coupled with a surface
trough down the west coast. The trough will move inland later today, continuing
to move east on Sunday A new high pressure ridge will rapidly develop over
southern parts on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 13 April
Showers possible over the far western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, far
southern Interior, Eucla, and eastern and central parts of the South West Land
Division. Chance of thunderstorms over the southeastern and central Gascoyne,
western and central Goldfields and northeastern parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Sunday 14 April
Showers possible over the northern and eastern Goldfields and Eucla,
contracting southeast and clearing during the day. Morning fog possible about
southern districts and inland parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 15 April
Dry conditions persisting across much of the State. Morning fog possible about
southern districts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 16 April
Dry conditions persisting across much of the State. Morning fog possible over
the South Coastal and South East Coastal districts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
