Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Kimberley into the Pilbara and down the
Gascoyne coast. A new high pressure system will become established over
southern parts of the state today and Wednesday, extending a ridge north
pushing the trough offshore of the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts in the
mornings. The ridge will weaken over the west Pilbara from Thursday bringing
the trough back over land.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is strengthening eastward along the south coast with a
surface trough developing down the west coast. The ridge and southern end of
the trough will move eastwards on Thursday ahead of a weak cold front brushing
the south coast later Thursday and Friday. A new ridge of high pressure will
form south of the state on Friday with another trough forming down the west
coast.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 2 May
Light showers along the south coast west of Israelite Bay. Possible morning fog
in the Great Southern, inland South West, South Coastal and South East Coastal
Districts, far southern Goldfields and inland west Eucla. Temperatures warming
down the west coast. Moderate to fresh easterly winds over the northern half of
the state.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 May
Possible morning fog in the inland South West, South Coastal and South East
Coastal Districts, southern parts of the Great Southern and inland Eucla.
Moderate to fresh easterly winds over the northern half of the state.
Temperatures continuing to warm in western parts.

Forecast for Thursday 4 May
Light showers about the south coast and adjacent inland parts west of
Esperance. Chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over the inland
Gascoyne and adjacent northern Central West District in the evening. Possible
morning fog in the inland South West and South Coastal districts, and southwest
Great Southern.

Forecast for Friday 5 May
Light showers over southern districts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and Eucla, contracting to the Eucla coast during the day. Showers
and possible thunderstorms over the southwest Gascoyne, northern South West
Land Division, and remaining Goldfields. Windy over southern and eastern parts
of the State.
