Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge moving east across southern parts of the State will
continue to direct slightly cooler and dry easterly winds over northern parts
for the remainder of this weekend. A trough will move across the Pilbara and
Interior on Monday and Tuesday, before moving to the Kimberley later next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge of high pressure across the southern parts of the State is slowly
moving east. A weak trough in the vicinity of the west coast will move inland
today ahead of a moderate cold front. The cold front will sweep through the
South West Land Division on Monday, moving to the eastern parts of the State
later in the day. A deepening low pressure system in the Bight will maintain a
cold southwesterly flow across the south of the State until later next week.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 23 April
Showers developing near the Southwest Capes in the afternoon and extending to
southwest of Busselton to Denmark in the evening. Windy across the North
Interior and Kimberley. Warm in the south.
Forecast for Monday 24 April
Showers over southwestern Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, adjacent South
Interior and western Eucla, more frequent over the South West Land Division.
Chance of thunderstorms with small hail about the southwest coast. Windy about
the south and southwest coasts, Goldfields, adjacent Interior and Eucla. Much
cooler across the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 25 April
Showers over central Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, South
Interior and South West Land Division. Chance of thunderstorms about the
southwest coast and across eastern Goldfields, adjacent South Interior and
Eucla. Chance of small hail about the southwest coast. Windy about the south
and southwest coasts. Cool to cold across the South West Land Division and
western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Wednesday 26 April
Showers over the far northern Kimberley, South Interior, coastal and eastern
parts of the Eucla, and South West Land Division. Chance of thunderstorms over
the far northern Kimberley, along the south coast between Albany and Israelite
Bay, and over the far southeast of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
