Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak, slow moving trough lies over the inland Kimberley and Pilbara. The
western end of the trough will move northeast on Friday and Saturday as a high
pressure ridge develops over southern parts.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies near the far western Eucla and Goldfields which moves east and
contracts into the Interior today. A weakening cold front contracts eastwards
over southeastern parts of the State with a new ridge rapidly developing over
southern parts, in the wake of the front. The ridge will strengthen on Sunday
as a high pressure system moves into Bight. A new trough develops near the west
coast on Sunday, deepening on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 17 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara
and far northwest parts of the Interior during the afternoon and evening. Light
showers along coastal parts from Jurien Bay to Esperance, contracting to south
of Margaret River early in the morning and clearing from the west in the
afternoon. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara and Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 18 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara
and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon and evening. Light
showers near the western south coast. Very hot over the southern Kimberley,
Pilbara and North Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 19 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara
and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon and evening. Possible
light showers near the Eucla coast.

Forecast for Monday 20 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern
parts of the Interior and the inland northern Gascoyne during the afternoon and
evening. Very hot over the inland northern South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
