Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough over the Kimberley and Pilbara extends south through the
Gascoyne. A tropical low developing to the far north of the Kimberley will move
closer during the weekend as it develops into a cyclone before making landfall
over the west coast of the Top End on Sunday night.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is strengthening near the south coast and will push a
trough located over the South West Land Division offshore on Saturday,
resulting in hot to very hot daytime temperatures away from the south coast
over the long weekend and much of next week.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 25 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent North Interior and
east Pilbara. Possible light shower about the south coast. Very hot over
southern parts away from the south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 26 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North Interior.
Possible shower or thunderstorm over the Pilbara and northern Gascoyne. Strong
winds and heavy falls possible about the north Kimberley coast. Very hot over
southern parts away from the south coast.

Forecast for Monday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Possible shower or thunderstorm
over the Pilbara, northern parts of North Interior and northwest Gascoyne. Very
hot over southern parts away from the south coast.

Forecast for Tuesday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Possible shower or thunderstorm
over the Pilbara, northern parts of North Interior and far northwest Gascoyne.
Very hot over southern parts away from the south coast.
