Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Kimberley, Interior and into the inland eastern
Pilbara and will extend further to the western Pilbara on Thursday. A tropical
low may develop over the inland Kimberley on Thursday and drift slowly west on
Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough lies over eastern parts of the South West Land Division and is moving
eastwards. A cold front is crossing southwestern parts of the State early this
morning. On Thursday a new ridge will begin to build to the south of the State
as a new trough develops over the inland Gascoyne. The ridge will strengthen
further on Friday and Saturday as the trough extends further down the west
coast.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 27 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, southern and eastern
Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Rain with
moderate to heavy falls possible over the northern Kimberley. Showers possible
over the Lower West, South West, South Coastal and southwestern parts of the
Great Southern, most likely during the morning.

Forecast for Thursday 28 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far eastern Pilbara, Interior and
the Eucla. Rain with moderate to heavy falls possible over the northern
Kimberley. Showers possible near the south coast between Windy Harbour and
Hopetoun.

Forecast for Friday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara,
central and northern Interior, northern Goldfields and the inland Gascoyne.
Rain with squally winds and moderate to heavy falls possible over the northern
and western Kimberley. Showers possible over the south coast between Windy
Harbour and Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Saturday 30 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, inland
Gascoyne and far northern parts of the Central West district. Rain with squally
winds and moderate to heavy falls possible over the northern and western
Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
