Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Pilbara through the inland Kimberley to a
weakening tropical low over the eastern Kimberley.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies south of the State and a deep trough lies near the west coast. The
trough will remain near the west coast on Thursday before moving slowly east on
Friday and Saturday. A new ridge will develop over the southwest of the State
in the wake of the trough from late Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 24 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior and far northeast
Pilbara. A chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the South Coastal, South
West and the adjacent Great Southern districts, most likely in the afternoon
and evening.
Forecast for Friday 25 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, North Interior and the northeast
Pilbara. A chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the Great
Southern, South East Coastal , southern Central Wheat Belt and southwest
Goldfields.
Forecast for Saturday 26 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Interior, far northeast
Gascoyne and central and eastern parts of the Pilbara. A chance of an afternoon
shower or thunderstorm over the southern Goldfields and the adjacent Eucla.
Chance of a shower along the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, northeast Gascoyne, far
northern Goldfields and inland Pilbara. A chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm over the southern Goldfields and the adjacent Eucla. Chance of a
shower along the south coast and adjacent inland areas.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
