Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough extends through the Pilbara and North Interior and
will contract northwards over the weekend. The trough will move offshore from
the western Pilbara during morning periods over the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge of high pressure lies off the south coast. A broad trough is
moving eastwards through central parts of the South West Land Division tonight
and during Thursday as a weak cold front skims the south coast. A new ridge of
high pressure will build rapidly over the south of the State in it’s wake,
remaining near the south coast on Friday and Saturday before moving south of
the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 1 April
Showers about coastal and adjacent inland parts from Cape Naturaliste to Bremer
Bay. Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 2 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the central and eastern Kimberley and the far
northeast Interior. Showers over the Southwest, South Coastal, South East
Coastal, Lower West and the adjacent Great Southern and Central West districts.
Forecast for Friday 3 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the north and east Kimberley and the adjacent
Interior. Showers about the south and Eucla coasts, extending to adjacent
inland parts for a period during the day. A chance of a shower about the
southwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 4 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the north Kimberley. Showers about the south
coast.
Forecast for Sunday 5 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the northern and western Kimberley. A chance of
showers or thunderstorms over the Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, northern parts
of the South West Land Division and the adjacent Pilbara.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
