Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over inland northern WA is in the process of weakening. A new trough
will cross the Pilbara and North Interior from the southwest on Tuesday and
Wednesday ahead of a fresh and gusty southeast wind change. The trough will
then become slow-moving from the southern Kimberley westward to the Pilbara
coast by Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough is moving eastward through the South West Land Division ahead of the
northern end of a cold front, will which cross the south coast during Tuesday
as the trough clears east into South Australia. A new ridge will strengthen in
the wake of the trough, resulting in a freshening southwest to southeasterly
surge on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ridging will remain place through central and
southern WA on Thursday and Friday, with a new west coast trough starting to
deepen by Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 9 March
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley,
northern and western Pilbara, and inland Gascoyne. Light showers over the
southern districts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through inland
northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, western Eucla,
Goldfields, inland Gascoyne, Pilbara and western Interior. Milder about coastal
parts from Albany to Israelite Bay. Windy along the west coast and western
Gascoyne.

Forecast for Tuesday 10 March
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far north and far west Kimberley,
northeast and central Pilbara and adjacent northwest North Interior. Showers
and possible thunderstorms over southeast Goldfields and western Eucla. Showers
over the South West Land Division, central and southwest Goldfields and far
southern Gascoyne. Raised dust possible over far southeast Goldfields, Eucla
and adjacent South Interior. Very hot through eastern Eucla, far eastern and
northern Goldfields, northern Gascoyne, Pilbara and Interior. Cool over the
South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields. Windy over southwest
Pilbara, central and southern parts of the state. Very windy over southeast
Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent South Interior for a period during the afternoon
and evening.

Forecast for Wednesday 11 March
Showers and possible thunderstorms over the Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern
parts of the South East Coastal, with possible heavy falls. Chance of showers
and thunderstorms over western and northern Kimberley, eastern and central
Pilbara and North Interior. Showers over southern and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division. Moderate falls possible over South East Coastal
district. Very hot through the Pilbara and North Interior. Cool over southern
and central WA. Windy over the far southern Pilbara, central and southeastern
parts of the state.

Forecast for Thursday 12 March
Showers and possible thunderstorms over southeast Goldfields and Eucla with
moderate falls possible. Showers and thunderstorms over northern and central
Kimberley. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over southern Kimberley,
Pilbara, and North Interior. Showers over southern parts of the South West Land
Division, northern and southwestern Goldfields, southern Interior and southeast
Gascoyne. Windy over the southern Pilbara, southern parts of the North
Interior, central and southeastern parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 13 March
Showers and thunderstorms over northern and central Kimberley. Chance of
showers and thunderstorms over southern Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara,
and North Interior. Showers over southern parts of the South West Land
Division, Goldfields, southern Interior and southeast Gascoyne. Windy in the
morning over the Gascoyne and central Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Tuesday.
