Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies near the Pilbara coast and into the far southern Kimberley. The
trough will move offshore from the Pilbara coast during the morning as a high
pressure ridge strengthens to the south and brings fresh southeasterly winds to
the area.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system south of the State is moving east while a trough lies
near the west coast. The trough will move inland later today.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 6 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, adjacent northeast Pilbara,
far west Pilbara and far northwest Gascoyne. Very hot over northern parts,
western Gascoyne and northwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy
over most parts of the state apart from the Kimberley, gusty in the morning
about the Darling Scarp.
Forecast for Friday 7 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, west Pilbara and
west Gascoyne. Chance of a late shower about the western south coast. Very hot
over northern parts, western Gascoyne and inland parts of the South West Land
Division. Windy in the morning over the North Interior, Pilbara and inland
Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 8 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and north and west Pilbara and
inland north Gascoyne. Showers over the southern South West, southern Great
Southern, South Coastal, and western parts of the South East Coastal district.
Very hot over northern parts of the State.
Forecast for Sunday 9 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, most of the Pilbara and northeast
Gascoyne. Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot
over northern parts of the State and northern Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
