Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies near the Pilbara coast and extends eastward into the inland
Kimberley. A high pressure ridge will continue to strengthen into the North
Interior and inland Pilbara. The trough extending down the west coast will move
towards the southeast today as the ridge over the inland Pilbara weakens.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system is moving across South Australia as a trough extends
down the west coast. The trough will move inland today as a cold front reaches
the southwest of the state. Another cold front will cross the southwest of the
state on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 3 September
Showers south and west of a line from Jurien Bay to Gnowangerup increasing in
the South West and Lower West. Light showers also possible over the southern
Goldfields and South East Coastal district. Unseasonably warm conditions
extending from inland parts of the Pilbara and Gascoyne into the eastern South
West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla and South Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 4 September
Showers extending over most of the South West Land Division and Eucla. Areas of
morning fog over southwestern parts of the Gascoyne. Surf conditions will be
hazardous for coastal activities between Cape Naturaliste and Israelite Bay.

Forecast for Thursday 5 September
Showers over the South West Land Division, southwestern Gascoyne, southern
Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm along the
south coast, west of Israelite Bay. Possible small hail over the Lower West,
South West, South Coastal districts, and southern parts of the Great Southern.
Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities along the west coast
between Geraldton and Mandurah, and along the south coast between Cape
Naturaliste and Israelite Bay.

Forecast for Friday 6 September
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay, also along the
Esperance coast and over the South Interior and eastern Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
