Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge is weakening over the Kimberley with a stagnant trough expected to lie
over the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. Another high will pass through
central parts of the State on Wednesday, followed by the next cold front into
the South West Land Division which will extend a trough from west to east
across the Pilbara during the day. A new ridge will develop into the Pilbara in
the wake of the trough.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front will move across the southern part of the South West Land
Division during Tuesday, with a ridge building eastward through central WA on
Tuesday night and Wednesday. Another relatively strong cold front will cross
the lower west coast on Wednesday night, continuing eastward on Thursday. A new
ridge will strengthen into central and southern parts of the State on Thursday
night and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 27 August
Showers southwest of a line Kalbarri to Kalgoorlie to Balladonia, most
widespread early in the day about the southwest corner. Windy over the lower
west and south coasts with the risk of damaging winds through parts of the
South West, South Coastal District and Great Southern. Unseasonably hot
conditions continuing over northern parts of the State and also very warm into
the Interior and Eucla. Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal
activities between Cape Naturaliste and Albany.

Forecast for Wednesday 28 August
Light showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Bremer Bay, with showers and
winds increasing later in the day about the South West. Unseasonably hot
through the north of the State and into the Interior. Cooler over the Eucla.
Surf conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities between Cape Leeuwin
and Albany.

Forecast for Thursday 29 August
Showers extending to southwest of a line from Denham to Kalgoorlie to Eyre,
most widespread about the Lower West, South West and western parts of the South
Coastal District and Great Southern. Windy over the southwest corner of the
State. Unseasonably hot through northern WA and extending down through the
eastern Goldfields, Interior and Eucla. Surf conditions will be hazardous for
coastal activities between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.

Forecast for Friday 30 August
Possible showers south and west of a line from Denham to Kalgoorlie to Eucla,
most likely about the Lower West, South West and coastal parts of the South
Coastal and South East Coastal District. Cooler through the Eucla, eastern
Goldfields and South Interior but remaining unseasonably hot in the eastern
Pilbara, North Interior and Kimberley. Surf conditions will be hazardous for
coastal activities between Cape Naturaliste and Albany.
