Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough lies near the Pilbara coast, with associated cloud band across
southwest Pilbara expected to persist into the weekend. Meanwhile, a weak ridge
through central Australia brings generally light easterly winds and sunny
conditions to the rest of northern WA.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cloud band extending from the Pilbara and Gascoyne to the southern Interior
is weakening but is expected to re-develop across the Gascoyne and Goldfields
today and bring patchy rainfall to the region. A ridge across southwest WA is
extending east across southern WA. A cold front will approach the southwest on
Saturday and move across the southwest coast on Sunday before weakening.
Another cold front will move across the far southwest on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 14 June
Light showers or light rain associated with a cloud band extending from the far
southwest Pilbara and Gascoyne, across northeast Central Wheat Belt into the
Goldfields. Chance of light showers about the southwest coast south of of
Busselton and about the south coast. Areas of fog in the morning about southern
parts of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 15 June
Showers and light rain about far southwest Pilbara, western and southern
Gascoyne, Central West, southern Goldfields, Central Wheat Belt, eastern parts
of the Great Southern, South East Coastal and Eucla. Showers developing over
Lower West and South West during the afternoon. Chance of a thunderstorm about
the south west coast between Mandurah and Albany in the afternoon and evening.
Chance of morning fog over the Eucla, southern Gascoyne, northern parts of the
South West Land Division and west Kimberley.
Forecast for Sunday 16 June
Showers and areas of rain southwest of a line Onslow to Eucla. Chance of a
thunderstorm southwest of Bunbury to Albany and about the northwest Gascoyne
coast.
Forecast for Monday 17 June
Showers and areas of rain south of a line Onslow to Warburton. Chance of
morning fog over southern and central parts of the South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
