Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A persistent ridge south of the State is directing southeasterly winds across
northern WA. A tropical low lies well northwest of the Kimberley and is
forecast to develop into a tropical cyclone on Saturday and move west, away
from the WA mainland.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high in the Tasman Sea with a ridge over the east of the State, will be
replaced by a new ridge of high pressure extending south of the State over the
weekend. A trough lies near the west coast and will push north from Monday as
the ridge strengthens.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 6 April
Isolated showers near the far north and northwest Kimberley coast. Possible
morning fog over the far eastern Eucla. Mostly sunny for the remainder of the
State.
Forecast for Sunday 7 April
Isolated showers near the north and northwest Kimberley coast. Chance of a
light shower along the south coast between Walpole and Hopetoun. Possible
morning fog over the southern Eucla and adjacent Southeast Coastal district.
Forecast for Monday 8 April
Isolated showers near the north and northwest Kimberley coast. Chance of a
light shower over southern coastal districts east of Albany. Windy over
southern and central parts of the State, particularly over the Darling Scarp in
the morning.
Forecast for Tuesday 9 April
Chance of a shower over coastal parts of the Kimberley and eastern Pilbara.
Isolated light showers over southern coastal districts east of Albany. Windy
over central and southwestern parts of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
