Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough will persist over the north of the State for the
next couple of days. A strong ridge of high pressure developing to the south
will push the trough offshore from the Pilbara coast from Wednesday. A tropical
low lies well offshore from the west Pilbara coast. The low is forecast to move
west, remaining offshore and may intensify into a tropical cyclone from
Thursday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure is building south of the state and will remain
there throughout the week.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, far northwest and
southwest Interior, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and northeast parts of the
South West Land Division. Showers over the Eucla, clearing later in the day.
Windy over southern and central parts of the state, including the Darling Scarp.

Forecast for Wednesday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, far northwest North
Interior and northwest Gascoyne. Showers over the remaining northern and
central Gascoyne, and far northern Goldfields. Windy over most of the State,
apart from the Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley, possibly increasing over
far eastern parts. Chance of showers over the Pilbara, northeast North
Interior, Eucla coast and far eastern South East Coastal district. Windy over
much of the State.

Forecast for Friday 22 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley and northeast North
Interior, possibly widespread over eastern parts. Chance of showers over the
west Pilbara, Eucla, southeast Goldfields, and near the south coast, east of
Walpole. Windy over much of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
