Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough will persist over the north of the State. A
tropical low well offshore to the northwest of the state is moving closer.
There is a high chance this tropical low will intensify into a tropical cyclone
from Friday and may impact the Pilbara or southwest Kimberley coasts on the
weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure trough over the southeastern parts of the State will shift
northeast as a high pressure ridge strengthens south of the state. A trough is
developing down the west coast and will push offshore on Friday before moving
inland on the weekend. A weak cold front will brush past the south coast on
Sunday and will be followed by a new high pressure ridge.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 14 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
western Interior, Goldfields and Eucla. Heavy falls possible over the western
Kimberley, eastern Goldfields, adjacent South Interior and over Eucla. Light
showers over central, southern and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Windy at times over southern and central parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 15 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
and far northern parts of the South West Land Division. Possible showers over
remaining parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla and far
western parts of the Interior. Windy at times over the Pilbara, southern and
central parts of the state.

Forecast for Saturday 16 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara, northwest
Interior, western Gascoyne, Central West and northern parts of Lower West
districts. Possible showers over remaining parts of the South West Land
Division, southern Goldfields and Eucla. Windy at times over the Pilbara and
Gascoyne coast.

Forecast for Sunday 17 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northwest Interior,
Gascoyne, northern and central parts of the South West Land Division. Possible
showers over remaining parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and Eucla. Windy at times over the Pilbara and Gascoyne coast.
