Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough of low pressure extends through the Pilbara into inland parts of
the Kimberley. A tropical low may drift across the Northern Territory border
and into the eastern Kimberley later on Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge remains south of the State whilst a trough deepens down
the west coast during the remainder of today. The trough will move inland on
Friday. A fresh ridge reestablishes over the south during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 15 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of afternoon and
evening thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the Pilbara, northwest
Interior, inland Gascoyne, Central West, and northwestern parts of Central
Wheat Belt. Windy in the morning about central and northern parts of the South
West Land Division in the morning, including the Darling Scarp. Very hot over
southwest Kimberley, parts of the inland Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields and most parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 16 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley. Chance
of thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, with little or no rainfall over
the Pilbara, northwest Interior, inland western and the central Gascoyne, and
inland Central West district. Possible showers about southern districts of the
South West Land Division. Windy in the morning about central southern parts.
Very hot over the southern Kimberley, parts of the inland Pilbara, Goldfields
and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 17 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley. Chance of
thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, with little or no rainfall over
the Pilbara. Possible light shower along the Albany coast. Very hot over the
west Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, inland west Eucla and most parts
of the South West Land Division away from the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 18 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, and
northeastern parts of the Northern Interior. Heavy falls possible over eastern
parts of the Kimberley. Possible light shower along the far southwest coast.
Very hot over most parts of the State away from the south coast.
