Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure of low pressure lies over inland parts of northern WA. The
trough will be forced offshore from the Pilbara coast on Sunday and Monday as a
strong high pressure system moves south of the State and extends a ridge
through nearly the entire State. By early next week, the ridge will have
contracted into the northern Kimberley as the southeasterly surges extend into
southern and western parts of the Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over the Interior will continue contracting away to the northeast as a
strong high pressure ridge develops over the region. The high will move south
of the State and its associated ridge will extend through all of southern and
central WA, bringing fresh and gusty southeasterly winds to most areas. The
ridge will begin to gradually weaken during the early part of next week.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 9 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and Interior. Slight chance of
showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon over the inland Pilbara. Light
