Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough is slow moving over inland parts of the Kimberley and extends to
the Pilbara coast. Meanwhile, a ridge to the south is directing a moderate to
fresh southeasterly flow across much of the Pilbara and North Interior. The
winds will ease over the Pilbara from Saturday as the ridge moves east. The
trough will move inland across the Pilbara over the weekend. A new ridge
developing in the south will direct freshening winds from Monday across the
Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge extends over southern parts of the state. A trough forming through the
Gascoyne and the South West Land Division will deepen, before moving further
inland on the weekend ahead of a weak cold front brushing past the south coast
on Sunday. A firm ridge of high pressure will then develop over the southwest
in the wake of the trough early next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 20 October
Possible light shower about South Coastal district coast in the morning. Partly
cloudy in the southwest. Very hot temperatures persisting across the northern
parts of the State. Windy through central parts. Smoke haze across the
Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 21 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the far northern Kimberley.
Chance of a thunderstorm with little or no rainfall through southwestern parts
of the South West Land Division. Very hot temperatures persisting across
northern parts of the State, warm to hot through the South West Land Division.
Windy through central parts.

Forecast for Sunday 22 October
Chance of a thunderstorm across the far eastern parts of the South West Land
Division and Goldfields. Showers over southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the far northern
Kimberley. Very hot temperatures persisting across northern parts of the State.
Warm to hot through inland South West Land Division. milder about the west
coast. Windy through central and southern parts.

Forecast for Monday 23 October
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, Eucla and southern
Goldfields. Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the far northern
Kimberley. Very hot temperatures across northern parts and central parts of the
State, cooler across the South West Land Division. Windy through central and
southern parts.
