Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is directing a dry, fresh and gusty east to southeasterly
flow over northern parts of the State. Winds will ease from Wednesday as the
ridge begins to weaken and moves east. A weak surface trough will develop over
the Pilbara Wednesday and Thursday, extending into the Kimberley on Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak surface trough extending down the west coast will move inland ahead of a
cold front that will move over the southwest of the State during Tuesday. A
high pressure ridge will rapidly develop in the wake of the cold front on
Wednesday before moving east as another surface trough develops over western
parts by Thursday. The southern end of the surface trough will move east during
Thursday and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 8 August
Showers extending through the South West Land Division with the chance of gusty
thunderstorms over western and southern parts. Showers and chance of
thunderstorms reaching the southwestern Goldfields by evening. Showers most
widespread over the Lower West, South West, and western parts of the Great
Southern and South Coastal District. Moderate to heavy falls possible in the
South West and adjacent southern Lower West district.

Forecast for Wednesday 9 August
Showers along the south coast, mostly clearing during the afternoon. Possible
morning fog and frost over inland central and southwestern parts of the South
West Land Division. Not as windy in the morning through northern parts of the
State.

Forecast for Thursday 10 August
Showers developing over most parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and far west Eucla. Morning frost possible over inland southern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 11 August
Showers over most parts of the South West Land Division, though more likely
over eastern parts, and also over the southern Goldfields and west Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
