Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists over the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie is moving northwest across the Northern Territory and
is likely to move into southeast Kimberley on Thursday morning. The system is
expected to become slow moving over the Kimberley towards the end of the week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends over the south of the state. A trough is
deepening down the west coast and will move inland across the South West Land
Division on Friday, ahead of the next ridge of high pressure. A weak cold front
will brush past the southwest coast on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 29 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls and
possible damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara,
northwest Gascoyne, northern parts of the Interior. Windy over central parts.
Very hot over west Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara, Central West and inland
northern parts of the Lower West districts.

Forecast for Friday 30 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls and
damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, and
northern parts of the Interior. Very hot over west Gascoyne, western Pilbara
and inland areas of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 31 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls and
damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, and
northern parts of the Interior. Windy across southeastern parts of the South
West Land Division. Very hot over central and eastern Gascoyne, western
Pilbara, Goldfields, adjacent South East and adjacent Eucla districts.

Forecast for Sunday 1 January
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls and
damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, and northern parts of the Interior. Windy across the
southeastern parts. Very hot over eastern Gascoyne, western Pilbara and
northern Goldfields.
