Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists over the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie is moving northwest in the Northern Territory and is
likely to move close to the WA/NT border on Wednesday, then move into southeast
Kimberley on Thursday. The system is expected to move west across the Kimberley
on Thursday and Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge extends over the south of the state. A trough will
form down the west coast on Wednesday and will move inland from the west coast
on Friday, ahead of the next ridge of high pressure. A weak cold front will
brush past the southwest coast on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 28 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with the chance of locally
heavy falls and damaging wind gusts in the east. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the Pilbara, north Gascoyne, North Interior, and northern
parts of South Interior. Windy over southern and central parts. Very hot over
northwest Gascoyne, far southern Kimberley and Pilbara.

Forecast for Thursday 29 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North
Interior, with possible heavy falls and damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the Pilbara, north Gascoyne, remaining North Interior, and
northern parts of the South Interior. Windy over central and southwestern
parts. Very hot over west Gascoyne, Pilbara, Central West and inland northern
parts of the Lower West districts.

Forecast for Friday 30 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North
Interior, with possible heavy falls and damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the Pilbara, remaining North Interior, and northern parts of
South Interior. Very hot over west Gascoyne, western Pilbara and inland areas
of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 31 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North
Interior, with possible heavy falls and damaging wind gusts. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the Pilbara, remaining North Interior, and northern parts of
South Interior. Very hot over central and eastern Gascoyne, western Pilbara,
northeast Central Wheat Belt, Goldfields and adjacent South East and adjacent
Eucla districts.
