Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A drier easterly flow will persist until later today. A trough is expected to
move over the Pilbara from the Gascoyne on Friday and extend to the Kimberley
by the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A shallow trough over inland agricultural areas is moving east as a ridge over
the southeast of the State weakens. A thickening cloud band and a cold front
will sweep across southern and western parts of the State today and Friday. A
ridge of high pressure will follow in the wake of the front on Friday across
the South West Land Division. Another weak front will brush past the southwest
coast on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 12 May
Rain and showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, western Pilbara,
Goldfields and Eucla. Gusty thunderstorms about the southwest coast, western
Gascoyne and western Pilbara. Possible heavy falls across western and southern
parts of the South West Land Division, western Gascoyne and western Pilbara.
Becoming windy about the southwest and west coasts.

Forecast for Friday 13 May
Showers southwest of a line Pardoo to Giles. Thunderstorms possible over
Pilbara and northern parts of the Gascoyne. Windy over southern parts of the
State. Possible heavy falls over the northern Gascoyne and southern Pilbara.

Forecast for Saturday 14 May
Showers over southwest Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, southern and
eastern parts of the Goldfields, Eucla, southern and western parts of the South
West Land Division and the west coast. Thunderstorms possible over far
southwest Kimberley, northeast Pilbara and adjacent Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 15 May
Showers southwest of a line Northampton to Balladonia, Eucla coast, northeast
Pilbara, North Interior, far northeast South Interior and far southwest
Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
