Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A deepening trough extends from the inland Pilbara and into the South Interior
and will slowly contract northeastwards today as a ridge begins to develop
along the south coast. By Sunday the trough will extend from the southern
Kimberley along the Pilbara coast. During Monday and Tuesday the trough will
deepen and move through the Pilbara and into the Interior as a cold front
crosses southern WA.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough sits over the interior of the state as a ridge is building across the
southern coast. The trough over the interior will contract east of the state on
Sunday as another trough develops near the west coast. The second trough near
the west coast will deepen on Monday and move inland ahead of a stronger front
that crosses the southwest of the state during the day. On Tuesday a new ridge
will begin to develop over southern parts of the state as the cold front
weakens over southeastern parts.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 9 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior and the adjacent
Pilbara. Showers about southern parts of the South West Land Division,
extending to the adjacent Goldfields for a period during the day.

Forecast for Sunday 10 October
Possible showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley and
eastern parts of the Interior. Morning frost over inland parts of the South
West Land Division and southern Goldfields.

Forecast for Monday 11 October
Showers about the South West Capes extending to areas southwest of Jurien Bay
to Israelite Bay during the day. A chance of an afternoon or evening shower or
thunderstorm over the north and east Kimberley.

Forecast for Tuesday 12 October
Showers about the south coast. A chance of an afternoon or evening shower or
thunderstorm over the northeast Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
