Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the eastern Pilbara down through the Interior. A ridge
will build to the west of the Pilbara during Tuesday. A high pressure system
developing south of the State from Wednesday will result in a freshening east
southeast flow over the north of the State on Thursday and Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system lies just northeast of Perth and will move east to lie
over the Goldfields during Tuesday, while a rain band will remain near
stationary along the south coast. The low will then contract east into South
Australia on Wednesday, and the rain band will ease. A high pressure system
will move south of the State on Thursday and Friday, with an onshore flow
persisting over southern parts.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 4 August
Rain areas and thunderstorms about the South East Coastal district, eastern
South Coastal district, the southern Goldfields and far western Eucla with
moderate to heavy falls possible. Heavy rain which may lead to flooding
possible near the south coast. Cold and showery over remaining parts of the
South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla, with
conditions gradually easing from the west. Possible afternoon thunderstorms
over the Goldfields and eastern parts of the South Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 5 August
Showers over southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division and the
Goldfields, easing through inland parts of the South West Land Division during
the day. Cold and showery over the Eucla and southern parts of the Interior,
mainly in the west with possible small hail. Possible early thunderstorms over
the far eastern Interior.

Forecast for Thursday 6 August
Showers about southern parts of the South West Land Division, Eucla, southern
and eastern Goldfields and South Interior.

Forecast for Friday 7 August
Showers about southern parts of the South West Land Division, Eucla, southern
and eastern Goldfields and far southern Interior. Light falls inland.
