Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends through the inland Pilbara into the Kimberley, with a deepening trough extending into the inland Gascoyne. The trough though the Gascoyne will contract eastwards during Friday and Saturday, before redeveloping new the west coast on Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough inland of the west coast will move east during this evening, contracting into the Goldfields on Friday and Interior late Saturday. A ridge of high pressure will develop south of the State during Saturday and Sunday, with a high pressure system moving south of the state on Monday. A new trough develops down the west coast during Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 14 February
Showers and thunderstorms over inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, central and eastern South West Land Division, Goldfields and far western parts of the Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Friday 15 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, eastern South West Land Division, Goldfields, western parts of the Interior and Eucla. Light showers possible near the western south coast. Very hot over northern parts of the State, the Goldfields and the Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 16 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and adjacent Gascoyne. Light showers possible near the south coast. Very hot over northern parts of the State.
Forecast for Sunday 17 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and west North Interior. Light showers possible near the south coast and Eucla coast. Very hot over northern parts of the State.
Forecast for Monday 18 February
Showers and thunderstorm over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, western Interior and adjacent Goldfields. Very hot over northern parts of the State and the northern Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
