Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara, and extends to the northern Interior. Tropical Cyclone Riley lies over waters north of the Pilbara coast. It is expected to track to the west southwest over the next few days over waters north of and parallel to the Pilbara coast. Although unlikely to cross the coast, this system may produce squalls over the northern Pilbara. Refer to the latest Tropical Cyclone Advice for further details.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State. A surface trough will begin to develop near the west coast during Sunday, before deepening and starting to move inland later on Monday. A weak front will brush the far southwest on Tuesday, with a new ridge of high pressure developing to the south of the state on Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 26 January
Gusty showers and thunderstorms through the Pilbara. Showers and gusty thunderstorms through the Kimberley, Interior, Gascoyne and the far northern Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 27 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, Kimberley, Interior, northern Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields, heavy falls possible in the Kimberley. Very hot in northern and western parts of the Central West.

Forecast for Monday 28 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, Kimberley, Interior and northern Gascoyne, heavy falls possible in the Kimberley. Very hot in northern and western parts of the Central West and inland parts of the Lower West.

Forecast for Tuesday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, northern Goldfields and northern Gascoyne. Showers developing about the South West, South Coast, and South East Coast districts.

Forecast for Wednesday 30 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and northeast Gascoyne. Showers about the South West, South Coast, South East Coast and adjacent Great Southern districts.
