Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara, and extends towards southeastern parts of the State. Tropical Cyclone Riley lies over waters north of the Pilbara coast. It is expected to track to the west southwest over the next few days over waters north of and parallel to the Pilbara coast. Although unlikely to cross the coast, this system may produce squalls over the west Kimberley and east Pilbara, with heavy falls possible. Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State. A surface trough will begin to develop near the west coast during Saturday, deepening on Sunday, before starting to move inland later on Monday.

Gusty showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. Showers and thunderstorms through the remaining Pilbara, Kimberley, Interior, northern Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Saturday 26 January
Gusty showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. Showers and thunderstorms through the remaining Pilbara, Kimberley, Interior, Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields. Slight chance of a light morning shower along the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 27 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, Kimberley, Interior and northern Gascoyne. Very hot in northern and western parts of the Central West.
Forecast for Monday 28 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, Kimberley, Interior and northern Gascoyne. Slight chance of a thunderstorm in northern parts of the Central West. Very hot in northern and western parts of the Central West and inland parts of the Lower West.
Forecast for Tuesday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Goldfields and northern Gascoyne. Showers developing about the South West, South Coast, and South East Coast districts.
