Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara and Interior and will remain fairly stationary for the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough lies over the central Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and into the Goldfields. The trough will move slowly eastwards during Thursday as a weak cold front brushes the south west corner of the state early Thursday morning with a ridge of high pressure developing in its wake. A new surface trough will develop down the west coast on Friday and deepen on Saturday, before moving inland from the west coast during Sunday and contract eastwards into the Goldfields on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 16 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior and Eucla. Very hot through central parts.

Forecast for Thursday 17 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and South East Coastal districts. Showers developing about the western south coast during the morning.

Forecast for Friday 18 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern Goldfields and the eastern Eucla. Possible morning showers about the Southern coastal parts east of Albany.

Forecast for Saturday 19 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, central and north Interior and northern Gascoyne. Very hot through the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 20 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, north Interior, Gascoyne and northern Central West. Showers about southern coastal parts west of Albany. Very hot through the South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
