Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies through the Pilbara and Interior and will remain fairly stationary for the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough lies over the central Pilbara, South Interior, and into the Eucla as a ridge of high pressure builds to the south of the State. The trough will broaden over the inland Gascoyne, Interior and northern Goldfields as the ridge pushes into the Bight, where it will remain for the following few days. A weak cold front will brush the far southwest of the State on Thursday before another ridge develops in the wake of the front by Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 15 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior and Eucla. Very hot over northern and central parts.
Forecast for Wednesday 16 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and far eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot through central parts.
Forecast for Thursday 17 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and South East Coastal districts. Showers developing about the western south coast during the morning.
Forecast for Friday 18 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, far northeast Gascoyne, northern and eastern Interior and the eastern Eucla. Possible morning showers about the South East Coastal district.
Forecast for Saturday 19 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and North Interior. Very hot through the South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
