Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough lies along the Pilbara coast and through the inland Kimberley and will remain near stationary over the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State. A surface trough lies near the west coast and will deepen and move eastwards on Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 7 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, western Gascoyne and northern Central West. Showers or drizzle possible in southern coastal areas between Albany and Esperance.
Forecast for Tuesday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, western Pilbara, Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers near the south coast. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Wednesday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, north and western Interior, northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, the Goldfields and the Eucla. Some morning showers over coastal areas east of Albany. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Thursday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, Interior, eastern parts of the Southeast Coastal district, the Goldfields and the Eucla. Some evening showers over coastal areas between Cape Leeuwin and Albany. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley, Gascoyne, Interior, Goldfields and inland parts of the Southeast Coastal district.
Forecast for Friday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and the Interior. Showers along coastal parts between Bunbury and Israelite Bay. Very hot in the Pilbara, southern Kimberley and Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
