Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough extends across the inland Pilbara and central Kimberley. The trough will extends offshore of the Pilbara coast on Thursday and Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak trough extends from the Gascoyne to the Eucla district and is slowly moving east. A weak front will brush the southwest coast this evening, before a ridge of high pressure drifts south of the State by Friday and persists through the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and North Interior. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Goldfields, eastern Southeast Coastal and Eucla. Showers near the western south coast and adjacent parts. Very hot through the north and east.

Forecast for Friday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior and inland Pilbara. Morning showers and thunderstorms about the southeast Goldfields, eastern Southeast Coastal and Eucla. Showers near the south coast and west coast between Jurien Bay and Esperance, clearing the west coast by the afternoon. Very hot through the north and east.

Forecast for Saturday 29 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior and eastern Pilbara. Very hot through the north and east.

Forecast for Sunday 30 December
Showers and thunderstorms through the Kimberley and northeast Interior. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast South West Land Division and adjacent Goldfields. Very hot through the north and east.

Forecast for Monday 31 December
Showers and thunderstorms in the Kimberley and northern Interior, extending through the southeast Pilbara, western Interior, eastern Gascoyne, northeast South West Land Division and western Goldfields in the afternoon. Showers about the south coast west of Albany.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
