Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley through the central Pilbara and moves further inland on Saturday. The trough redevelops through the inland Pilbara through to the north Interior on Sunday and will remain near stationary to the middle of next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure cell lies in the Bight with a deep trough inland from the west coast. The trough will move eastwards over the weekend. A ridge of high pressure will develop south of the State on Monday and strengthen further on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 14 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, south and east Gascoyne, Central West, inland Lower West, South West district and adjacent parts.
Forecast for Saturday 15 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the southern half of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields, with thunderstorms to gradually contract eastwards in the evening. Showers developing along the Central West Coast in the late evening.
Forecast for Sunday 16 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over central and southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and the Eucla gradually contracting eastwards during the day. Showers about the remaining South West Land Division and the adjacent Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 17 December
Showers about central and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and the Eucla, with a chance of morning thunderstorms about the eastern Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms about the north and east Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 18 December
Showers about southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and the Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms about the northeast Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Saturday.
