Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends across the north. A ridge developing
through central Australia will push the trough closer to the Kimberley and
Pilbara coasts on Tuesday. The trough will move back inland from Wednesday as a
new trough develops over western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge extending over southern WA will move east on Monday, as a weak
cold front brushes past the southwest coast. Meanwhile, a trough developing
over western Gascoyne will extend along the west coast on Tuesday, moving
inland on Wednesday ahead of an approaching cold front. A series of cold fronts
will then cross southwest WA in the second half of the week.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 4 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Interior, clearing in the late
afternoon. Chance of a shower over the north and east Kimberley and eastern
Eucla. Light showers developing west of a line Bunbury to Albany in the
afternoon and evening. Areas of smoke haze in the southwest.
Forecast for Monday 5 October
Light showers south of a line Lancelin to Bremer Bay, clearing in the
afternoon. Chance of an afternoon shower over the north and east Kimberley, and
adjacent northeast of North Interior, clearing in the early evening. Possible
morning fog over the southern Interior, eastern Eucla, , southern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division. Areas of smoke haze in the southwest.
Forecast for Tuesday 6 October
Afternoon and evening shower and possible thunderstorm over the southern
Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields, northern and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division. Afternoon showers over the northern Kimberley. Chance of morning
fog over South East Coastal and adjacent Eucla. Areas of smoke haze in the
southwest. Windy at times over western Gascoyne.
Forecast for Wednesday 7 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over southeast Gascoyne, eastern parts of
the South West Land Division, southern and central Goldfields, Eucla, central
and southern Interior. Sight chance of a shower south of a line Harvey to
Albany in the afternoon and evening, and about the Geraldton coast. Afternoon
showers over the northern and eastern Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 8 October
Showers and possible thunderstorms over southeast Gascoyne, eastern parts of
the South West Land Division, southern and central Goldfields, Eucla, central
and southern Interior. Showers over the remainder of the South West Land
Division, remainder of southern Gascoyne, and over the northern and eastern
Kimberley. Windy at times over southern, central and northwest WA.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Monday.
