Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Kimberley with a high pressure ridge extending
into the Pilbara. Later Thursday and Friday the ridge weakens with the trough
extending from the Kimberley and through the Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system over Bight Waters will weaken and move east on
Friday with a broad trough developing over western parts, The trough will move
inland later Friday and the weekend ahead of a weak cold front moving over the
southwest corner on Saturday. A second weak cold front will follow later Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 9 September
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Interior with the chance of a shower
or thunderstorm over the southeast Kimberley. Light showers over the
Goldfields, Eucla and along the coast east of Esperance. Chance of an afternoon
shower near the north Kimberley coast. Windy over central and southeastern
parts of the state.

Forecast for Thursday 10 September
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the far east Goldfields, northern
Eucla, Interior, and eastern Kimberley. Light showers over the over the
remaining Eucla and Goldfields, and about the coast east of Esperance. Windy
over eastern parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 11 September
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the central and east Interior,
Eucla, far eastern Goldfields, and southeast Kimberley. Afternoon or evening
showers possible near the north Kimberley coast. Possible late shower
developing about the South West Capes in the evening. Possible morning fog
about the east Pilbara coast and the Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 12 September
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Bremer Bay, extending east through
remaining southern districts during the afternoon, and retracting to the west
and south coasts in the evening. Thunderstorms possible about the coast between
Mandurah and Walpole. Showers and the chance of a thunderstorm over the
southern South Interior, southeast Goldfields, Eucla, and the eastern South
East Coastal district. Afternoon showers over the north Kimberley. Possible
morning fog about and inland of the west coast between Dongara and Exmouth.

Forecast for Sunday 13 September
Showers over western and central parts of the South West Land Division,
becoming confined southwest of Perth to Albany in the evening. Showers and the
chance of a thunderstorm over the southern South Interior, eastern Goldfields,
and Eucla. Afternoon showers over the north Kimberley. Possible morning fog
over southern parts.
