Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough developing over the central Pilbara will strengthen westerly winds
over the west Pilbara this afternoon and evening. The trough will extend east
into the North Interior tomorrow, branching from a low pressure centre in
central WA. The trough will then become near-stationary from Sunday until
mid-next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge over central WA will dissipate this afternoon before a cold front
crosses the west coast tonight. On Sunday, the front will combine with a trough
currently developing over central parts, resulting in a slow-moving trough and
low pressure system across the Goldfields and South Interior from Sunday until
the middle of next week. A new ridge will develop over the Bight from Sunday,
gradually moving eastwards next week.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 5 September
Showers over western parts of the South West Land Division and western
Gascoyne. Chance of a gusty thunderstorm about the coast between Kalbarri and
Mandurah. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley coast. Windy
about the western Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara and Central West coast.

Forecast for Sunday 6 September
Showers and areas of rain over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne,
southwest Pilbara, Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla. Chance of gusty
thunderstorms about inland central WA. Heavy falls possible over the
Goldfields. Chance of an afternoon shower about the north Kimberley coast.
Possible morning fog over the west Kimberley. Windy across much of the state,
excluding the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 7 September
Showers and areas of rain over eastern parts of the South West Land Division,
eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern and central Interior and Eucla. Chance
of gusty thunderstorms over the northeastern Goldfields, southern and central
Interior, and northern Eucla. Heavy falls possible over the east Goldfields,
southern Interior and eastern Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower about the
north Kimberley coast. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley. Windy
across central and southeastern parts.

Forecast for Tuesday 8 September
Showers over the eastern South West Land Division, east Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior, Eucla, and southeast Kimberley. Chance of a thunderstorm over the
northern Goldfields, east Eucla, and the Interior. Heavy falls possible over
the east Goldfields, southern Interior and Eucla. Chance of an afternoon shower
about the north Kimberley coast. Windy across central and southern parts.

Forecast for Wednesday 9 September
Showers over the eastern South West Land Division, east Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior, Eucla, and southeast Kimberley. Chance of a thunderstorm over the
northern Goldfields, adjacent Gascoyne, Interior, and north Eucla. Chance of an
afternoon shower about the north Kimberley coast.Windy over central and
southern parts.
