Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies over the central Kimberley and extends back towards the Pilbara
coast. The western part of the trough will move inland through the Pilbara
Wednesday and Thursday as a ridge to the south begins to weaken. As this ridge
contract towards the southeast, a new ridge will strengthen from the west into
the Pilbara from Thursday. The trough will then extend back into the western
Pilbara on Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over southeastern WA is moving east. A slow-moving cold
front and trough will reach the west coast on Wednesday, continuing into the
eastern South West Land Division and Goldfields on Thursday as a low pressure
centre develops in the trough near the south coast. In the wake of the front
and trough, a new ridge will strengthen across the west coast.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 25 August
Showers southwest of a line Perth to Windy Harbour, extending to southwest of a
line Perth to Albany by late evening. Showers increasing with the chance of a
thunderstorm about the South West Capes and along the coast to Busselton later
in the day. Slight chance of a shower in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 26 August
Showers southwest of a line Perth to Bremer Bay and along the coast to Shark
Bay, extending to Carnarvon to Merredin to Israelite Bay by late evening.
Chance of thunderstorms over western parts of the South West Land Division.
Heavy falls possible about southern parts of the Lower West and northern parts
of the South West districts. Slight chance of a shower in the north Kimberley.
Areas of morning fog over the far northern Kimberley, inland western Pilbara,
inland Central West and western Central Wheat Belt. Fresh and gusty winds
developing through the inland Gascoyne, Goldfields and eastern South West Land
Division.

Forecast for Thursday 27 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, Interior and northern and western Kimberley. Chance of
thunderstorms about the Central West coast, eastern South West Land Division,
southern and eastern Goldfields, southern South Interior and Eucla. Possible
moderate falls through the Great Southern and South East Coastal District.
Chance of a shower over the western Pilbara. Areas of morning fog over
northwest Kimberley. Fresh and gusty winds about the west coast and western
south coast.

Forecast for Friday 28 August
Showers with the chance of thunderstorms over far eastern parts of the South
West Land Division, Goldfields, southern and central South Interior, and Eucla.
Showers also over the remaining eastern South West Land Division and along the
remaining south coast. Areas of morning fog in the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 29 August
Showers with the chance of thunderstorms over the northern South West Land
Division, southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern and western Interior, and
Eucla. Showers also over central and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division, remaining eastern Gascoyne and southeast Pilbara. Fresh and gusty
winds over the North Interior and adjacent southern Kimberley in the morning.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Wednesday.
