Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure lies over the Kimberley with a trough extending
into the Pilbara. The trough will move southeast during the weekend as a new
ridge develops to the south. Another trough will extend back into the Pilbara
on Tuesday as the ridge weakens and moves east.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough near the west coast will move inland this afternoon. A weak cold
front will cross the southwest corner of the state early on Sunday ahead of a
ridge extending across the southern half of the state on Sunday and Monday.
Another cold front will move over the far southwest of the state on Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 22 August
Showers with the chance of thunderstorms over the north and west South West
Land Division, southern and eastern Gascoyne, northern and central Goldfields
and Interior. Heavy rainfall possible with thunderstorms over the inland
southern Central West, northwestern Central Wheat Belt and adjacent southern
Gascoyne. Showers also possible over the remaining Gascoyne, and extending into
eastern parts of the South West Land Division and southern Goldfields during
the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Sunday 23 August
Showers with the chance of gusty thunderstorms over the Interior, north and
central Goldfields, north and east Eucla, and far northeast Central Wheat Belt
and far southeast Gascoyne. Light showers over the remaining South West Land
Division, southern Goldfields and coastal and remaining southern Gascoyne,
mostly clearing later afternoon and evening. Areas of morning fog over the
northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 24 August
Light showers over coastal parts of the South West Land Division, central and
eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers over the southern and eastern Interior,
with the chance of thunderstorms over the far northeastern South Interior.
Areas of morning fog over inland parts of the South West Land Division and far
northern Kimberley. Patchy morning frost possible over inland southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 25 August
Showers developing about the South West Capes, extending to southwest of a line
Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay by midnight. Chance of a shower along the north
Kimberley coast. Areas of morning fog over inland western parts of the South
West Land Division and far northern Kimberley. Patchy morning frost possible
over parts of the Great Southern, Central Wheat Belt, western and southern
Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 26 August
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Ravensthorpe, extending to southwest
of Shark Bay to Esperance by midnight. Chance of a thunderstorm over western
and central parts of the South West and Division. Chance of a shower along the
north Kimberley coast. Areas of morning fog over the far northern Kimberley.
