Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge in the north has dissipated as a weak trough becomes established from
the eastern Kimberley into the North Interior. A ridge over southern WA later
in the week will push the trough to the Kimberley on Friday. Meanwhile, a
patchy cloud band is developing across southern Pilbara and central parts of
the Interior.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front will brush past the southwest corner of the state on
Wednesday. Meanwhile, a weak ridge currently over central parts of the state
will shift to southern WA on Thursday and Friday. A cloud band is slowly
developing across the Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and Interior. The cloud
band will extend into southern WA on Saturday as a trough develops over the
South West Land Division, ahead of the next cold front on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 18 August
Isolated light showers over the Lower West, South West, South Coastal, South
East Coastal, southern Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and central parts of the
Interior. A light shower possible across far northern and eastern Kimberley,
clearing by early evening.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 August
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Isolated showers with areas of patchy light rain across the Gascoyne, southern
Pilbara, northern Goldfields and South Interior. Chance of a shower over far
northern and far eastern Kimberley and adjacent northeast Interior. Areas of
morning fog over southern Eucla, eastern parts of South East Coastal, near the
east coast of the Pilbara and northwest Kimberley. Areas of morning frost over
southern Goldfields, eastern parts of South East Coastal and inland Eucla.
Forecast for Thursday 20 August
Shower and areas of rain across far southern Pilbara, northern and central
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South Interior. Light showers over the
southwest and southern parts of the South West Land Division, contracting to
the south coast in the evening. Areas of morning fog and frosts over inland
parts of South West Land Division, far southern Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent
southeastern parts of South Interior.
Forecast for Friday 21 August
Showers and areas of rain across southern Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields, South Interior and northern parts of Central West. Chance of a
shower about the south coast of the South West Land Division. Areas of morning
fog and frosts over the inland parts of the South West Land Division and
adjacent Goldfields, and in the far northwest Kimberley. Chance of morning fog
over northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 22 August
Showers and areas of rain across far southern Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
central and southern Interior and the South West Land Division. Chance of a
thunderstorm over northern parts of the South West Land Division and southern
Gascoyne. Areas of morning fog over the inland parts of the South West Land
Division.
