Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over the Kimberley is weakening as a cold front moves through southern
WA. A cloud band will develop through the Gascoyne during Tuesday night and
Wednesday before another weak ridge extends into northern WA from Thursday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is passing through southern WA and will contract eastward into
South Australia on Tuesday as a weak ridge extends through central WA. The
northern end of a cold front will brush the southwest corner of the State on
Wednesday. A
cloud band will extend from the Gascoyne into the northern and eastern
Goldfields and Interior during Wednesday and Thursday as another ridge becomes
established over southern WA.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 17 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, southern and western
Goldfields and western Eucla, easing about the western part of the State.
Chance of a shower over the west Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm and small
hail about the south coast to the west of Bremer Bay. Windy over the South West
Land Division, southern Gascoyne and western Goldfields, easing about the
western districts during the evening.

Forecast for Tuesday 18 August
Isolated showers over the Lower West, South West and over the Lower West, South
West and coastal parts in the South Coastal and South East Coastal Districts.
Showers contracting out of the southern Goldfields and Eucla early in the day.
Slight chance of an afternoon shower in the far northern Kimberley. Possible
light showers from a cloud band through the southern Pilbara, northern Gascoyne
and adjacent South Interior. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley,
southern and inland western Gascoyne, and adjacent Wheat Belt and Central West.
Patchy morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt and Great Southern.

Forecast for Wednesday 19 August
Showers over western parts of the South West Land Division. Showers with
possible areas of steadier rain from a cloud band extending through the
Gascoyne, western Pilbara, northern and eastern Goldfields, South Interior and
northern Eucla.
Areas of morning fog inland from the coast from the far eastern South West Land
Division into the Eucla, and over the north Pilbara and northwest Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 20 August
Shower and areas of steadier rain from a cloud band through the southwestern
Pilbara, Gascoyne, north-central Goldfields, South Interior and inland Eucla,
possibly extending through the northern Wheat Belt and southern Goldfields
early in the day. Light showers over the southwest part of the South West Land
Division. Areas of morning fog over inland parts of South West Land Division
and adjacent Goldfields.

Forecast for Friday 21 August
Generally light showers from a cloud band extending through the southern
Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South Interior. Chance of a shower
about the South West coast. Areas of morning fog over the inland southern and
central South West Land Division and adjacent Goldfields, and in the far
northwest Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Tuesday.
