Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies over the Kimberley and Pilbara with another trough branch
extending into the Interior associated with a cloud band. A ridge over southern
and central Australia will continue to maintain an easterly flow in the north
for the remainder of the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad ridge of high pressure along the south coast will dominate the weather
pattern for the remainder of the week. A cloud band lies over the Interior. A
cold front will move over the South West Land Division on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 14 August
Showers over the Interior and far southern Kimberley, with the chance of a
thunderstorm through the central Interior. Chance of a shower or drizzle along
the south coast east of Esperance.
Forecast for Saturday 15 August
Showers over eastern parts of the Interior, the central Kimberley and coastal
and eastern parts of the Eucla district. Chance of a thunderstorm through the
central Interior. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley. Chance of
morning frost over western parts of the Central Wheat Belt and Great Southern.
Forecast for Sunday 16 August
Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley and the Eucla district.
Chance of a late shower about the South West Capes.
Forecast for Monday 17 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, western and southern Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields and western Eucla. Chance of a shower over the far western
Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm about the Lower West coast and western parts
of the South West district. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 18 August
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division, the
Eucla, southeast Goldfields, and southern parts of the South Interior and
Pilbara. Chance of a thunderstorm over the eastern Eucla and southeast South
Interior. Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley and inland western
parts of the Gascoyne and South West Land Division. Morning frost also possible
across the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and inland parts of the South
West and Lower West districts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Saturday.
