Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Kimberley. A ridge extending over southern WA will
bring an easterly surge across the Pilbara, North Interior and southern
Kimberley on Wednesday and Thursday. A trough will form near the Kimberley and
Pilbara coast later on Thursday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold pool and vigorous southwesterly flow is gradually easing over the
southeast of the state. A ridge is moving in over the west coast and will
gradually extend across southern WA over the next few days, dominating the
weather pattern until the end of the week.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 11 August
Light showers or drizzle about the south coast east of Bremer Bay. Showers with
possible small hail through the Eucla and southern South Interior, contracting
to the south coast by evening.
Forecast for Wednesday 12 August
Light showers about the south coast east of Esperance. Areas of morning frost
through inland parts of the South West Land Division, the Goldfields, southern
Gascoyne, South Interior and inland Eucla. Possible morning fog in the far
north Kimberley and inland western and central parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Thursday 13 August
Chance of a light shower over the Eucla, far eastern Goldfields and southern
South Interior. Areas of morning frost and fog over inland parts of the South
West Land Division, the western Goldfields, southern Gascoyne and inland Eucla.
Possible morning fog over the northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 14 August
Showers possible over the Eucla, South Interior, southern Goldfields and South
East Coastal district. Areas of morning frost and fog over inland parts of the
South West Land Division and Eucla. Possible morning fog over the northwest
Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 15 August
Showers possible over the Eucla and eastern Interior. Areas of morning frost
over the Central Wheat Belt and adjacent parts of the Goldfields, Great
Southern and South East Coastal districts. Possible morning fog over the
northwest Kimberley and the inland Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Wednesday.
