Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies near the west Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A ridge will
extend into the western Gascoyne from late Friday, strengthening into the
Pilbara from Saturday and then southern and western parts of the Kimberley from
Sunday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak trough over the Goldfields will move inland the Eucla on Friday. A cold
front will reach the southwest corner of the State during tonight before
contracting into the Southern Ocean on Friday. A stronger cold front will then
push through the South West Land Division on Friday night and Saturday, trailed
by a vigorous, cold southwesterly flow. A broad ridge will extend over central
WA from Saturday. Another cold front is likely to reach the lower west coast on
Sunday night.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 6 August
Showers and possible thunderstorms in the Goldfields, South East Coastal
District, Eucla and adjacent South Interior. Possible light showers from a
cloud band in the northern and central Gascoyne. Showers increasing south and
west of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay.

Forecast for Friday 7 August
Showers over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern South Interior, Eucla and the
South West Land Division, most widespread from the southern Central West into
the Lower West and South West coast. Possible morning fog over the eastern
Goldfields and adjacent Eucla, inland Central West, southern Gascoyne, and near
coastal parts in the Pilbara and west Kimberley. Becoming windy near the
southwest coast.

Forecast for Saturday 8 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, with small hail possible across
western and southern districts. Snow flurries possible about the higher peaks
of the Stirling Ranges. Chance of a thunderstorm near the west coast south of
Lancelin as well as along the south coast and through the Eucla district.
Showers also over the Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior and Eucla, with the
chance of an early shower over the south and west Pilbara. Possible morning fog
over the west Kimberley. Windy across much of southern and central WA.

Forecast for Sunday 9 August
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Katanning, and along the south coast,
with small hail possible in the morning along the south coast east of Hopetoun.
Areas of morning frost through inland parts of the South West Land Division and
adjacent Goldfields and Gascoyne. Possible morning fog over the northwest
Kimberley.

Forecast for Monday 10 August
Showers across the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
Goldfields and Eucla. Possible thunderstorms south and west of a line from
Geraldton to Bremer Bay. Possible small hail in the southwest corner. Areas of
frost in the morning through inland central WA. Possible fog in the far north
Kimberley.
