Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over central Australia is slowly moving east, with a new ridge forecast
to move across southern WA on the weekend. A trough will develop near the west
Pilbara coast on Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge over the southeast of the state is moving east as a cold front crosses
the South West Capes on Friday afternoon. The cold front will move inland and
weaken rapidly on Saturday. A new high pressure system will quickly move along
the south coast on Sunday, followed by a trough developing along the west coast
on Monday in association with a cloud band.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 31 July
Showers southwest of a line Rockingham to Bremer Bay, extending to southwest of
Jurien Bay to Hopetoun by midnight. Chance of a thunderstorm south of a line
Harvey to Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Saturday 1 August
Light showers and drizzle over the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and western Eucla in the morning, contracting to the south coast
east of Albany in the afternoon and evening. Possible morning fog over inland
parts of the Central West and the far southwest Gascoyne. Windy about the south
coast.
Forecast for Sunday 2 August
Chance of a light shower or drizzle in the morning along the south coast.
Morning frost over inland parts of the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields and inland western Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 3 August
Showers developing over the western Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern and western
parts of the South West Land Division and western Goldfields. Chance of a
thunderstorm near the west coast south of Geraldton in the evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 4 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, Goldfields and western
parts of the Pilbara, South Interior and Eucla. Chance of a thunderstorm over
the Central West, Lower West and South West districts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Saturday.
