Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over central Australia maintains a moderate easterly flow over the
region. The ridge gradually weakens over the coming days as its associated high
pressure centre moves into the Tasman Sea and weakens.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A decaying cold front continues east along the South Coast as a trough lingers
over the northern South West Land Division. Another cold front will follow
later Friday and into Saturday. A weak ridge will push over the central west
coast on Sunday before a weak cold front will cross the far southwest corner
later Monday. A ridge will then establish over southern parts from Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 17 July
Showers southwest of Carnarvon to Israelite Bay. Chance of gusty thunderstorms
west of a line from Denham to Corrigin to Albany, with moderate to heavy falls
possible about the Central West district. Windy about the west coast.

Forecast for Saturday 18 July
Showers southwest of a line from Coral Bay to the western Eucla district,
easing over much of the South West Land Division in the afternoon. Chance of
gusty thunderstorms about the south coastal fringe between Margaret River and
Denmark. Patchy morning fog in the northwest Gascoyne. Windy over southern
districts, easing later in the day.

Forecast for Sunday 19 July
Showers southwest of a line from Coral Bay to Eyre, easing over the South West
Land Division in the evening.

Forecast for Monday 20 July
Showers southwest of a line from Perth to Albany, in the southern Goldfields,
and western Eucla. The chance of a shower over the remainder of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields and western and southern Gascoyne. Patch morning fog
over most of the inland South West Land Division and Goldfields. Possible early
morning frost over the far southwest Goldfields and inland eastern South West
Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 21 July
Chance of a shower southwest of a line from Geraldton to Ravensthorpe and over
the remainder of the south coastal districts. Patchy morning fog over the
inland South West Land Division. Possible morning frost over the southwest
Goldfields and adjacent Central Wheat Belt.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Saturday.
