Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge to the south maintains a moderate to fresh easterly flow over the
region. The ridge will be pushed northward throughout today and weaken from
Friday as a cold front moves over the south of the state.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is pushing into central parts of the state as a cold front moves over
the southwest of the state throughout today and into Friday. A second cold
front will follow later Friday and into Saturday. A weak ridge will push over
the central west coast on Sunday with another front approaching the far
southwest corner later Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 16 July
Showers southwest of Perth to Albany, extending to southwest of a line from
Kalbarri to Esperance by late evening. Chance of gusty thunderstorms west of a
line from Geraldton to Narrogin to Walpole, with heavy falls possible about
parts of the Lower West and South West districts. Windy afternoon over the
inland South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 17 July
Showers southwest of Carnarvon to Israelite Bay. Chance of gusty thunderstorms
west of a line from Denham to Corrigin to Albany, with moderate to heavy falls
possible about western parts from Geraldton to Lancelin. Patchy morning fog in
the west Pilbara and west Gascoyne. Windy about the west coast in the afternoon
and evening.
Forecast for Saturday 18 July
Showers southwest of a line from Coral Bay to the western Eucla district.
Chance of thunderstorms about the south coastal fringe between Margaret River
and Denmark. Patchy morning fog in the far west Pilbara and adjacent Gascoyne.
Windy over southern districts, easing later in the day.
Forecast for Sunday 19 July
Showers southwest of a line from Coral Bay to Eyre, easing over the South West
Land Division in the evening.
Forecast for Monday 20 July
Showers southwest of Perth to Albany, southern Goldfields and western Eucla.
Chance of a shower over the remainder of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields and western and southern Gascoyne. Patch morning fog over most of
the inland South West Land Division, Goldfields and far western Eucla. Possible
early morning frost over the far southwest Goldfields and southeast Central
Wheat Belt.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Friday.
