Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over the southern Kimberley will move into the northern part on
Thursday and out of the region by Friday. A cooler and drier southeast surge
will extend across the north following the trough. Associated patchy cloud band
across the Kimberley and northern Interior will slowly contract east by Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system over the western Eucla will weaken during Wednesday
afternoon. A ridge is extending over southwest WA and is directing a cool to
cold air flow. A high pressure system will move over southern WA on Friday and
will bring settled conditions, ahead of the next cold front on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 17 June
Heavy rain with thunderstorms and windy over eastern parts of the South East
Coastal district, easing in the afternoon. Showers and drizzle over the
remainder of southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, along
the west coast south of Geraldton, southern Kimberley and southern and
northeast Interior, more frequent about the south coast. Showers with moderate
falls over the southeast Goldfields and Eucla, easing in the afternoon and
evening.
Forecast for Thursday 18 June
Showers and drizzle over southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior, more frequent about the south
coast. Chance of a shower over the northern and eastern Kimberley and far
northeastern parts of the North Interior. Morning fog possible over the inland
northern South West Land Division, adjacent Gascoyne and northern Kimberley.
Morning frost possible over the inland central and northern South West Land
Division, eastern and southern Gascoyne, northern and western Goldfields and
western South Interior.
Forecast for Friday 19 June
Light showers and drizzle over southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields, Eucla, and southern Interior, more frequent about the
south coast. Chance of morning frost through the Central Wheat Belt, northwest
Great Southern and central parts of the state.
Forecast for Saturday 20 June
Chance of a shower or drizzle about the south coast, eastern Goldfields, Eucla,
and southern Interior. Showers developing later over the far southwestern parts
of the South West Land Division. Morning fog possible over the inland South
East Coastal district, far southern Goldfields and northwest Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 21 June
Showers southwest of a line from Lancelin to Hopetoun with a chance of a shower
over the remaining South West Land Division and western Gascoyne.
