Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from the central Interior to the Kimberley will move into
the northern Kimberley on Thursday and out of the region by Friday. A cooler
and drier southeast surge will extend across the north following the trough.
Associated patchy cloud band across the Kimberley and northern Interior will
slowly contract east by Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is moving east along the south coast, associated trough extends to
inland southern WA. A low pressure system will deepen in the Bight tonight and
move close to Israelite Bay on Wednesday morning before weakening on Wednesday
afternoon. A ridge is extending over southwest WA and is directing a cool to
cold air flow. A high pressure system will move over southern WA on Friday and
will bring settled conditions, ahead of the next cold front on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 16 June
Showers over southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, southeast Gascoyne, Eucla, and southern and eastern Interior.
Chance of a shower over northern Interior and southwest Kimberley. Chance of a
thunderstorm along the south coast east of Bremer Bay, Eucla, southeast
Goldfields and Interior.
Forecast for Wednesday 17 June
Heavy rain with thunderstorms and very windy over eastern parts of the South
East Coastal district, easing in the afternoon. Showers and drizzle over the
remainder of southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division, along
the west coast south of Geraldton, northern Goldfields , southern Kimberley and
southern Interior, more frequent about the south coast. Showers with moderate
falls over southern Goldfields, Eucla and northeast Interior with chance of a
thunderstorm, easing in the afternoon and evening. Morning fog possible over
much of the Lower West, northern parts of South West and northwest parts of the
Kimberley. Morning frost possible over the Central Wheat Belt and adjacent
Gascoyne.
Forecast for Thursday 18 June
Showers and drizzle over southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields, Eucla and southern Interior, more frequent about the south
coast. Chance of a shower over northern and eastern Kimberley and northeastern
parts of North Interior. Morning fog possible over much of the inland northern
parts of the South West Land Division, western Goldfields, southern and eastern
Gascoyne and northern Kimberley. Morning frost possible over the Central Wheat
Belt, eastern Gascoyne and northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 19 June
Light showers and drizzle over southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields, Eucla, and southern Interior, more frequent about the
south coast. Chance of morning frost through inland parts of Lower West and
western parts of central Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 20 June
Light showers and drizzle over southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields, Eucla, and southern Interior, more frequent about the
south coast. Morning fog possible over much of inland parts of the South West
Land Division, southern Goldfields, southern and eastern Gascoyne and northern
Kimberley.
