Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge extends into the Kimberley and will persist through the weekend as a
weak trough moves into the western part of the Pilbara. The trough will
progress farther east into the Pilbara early next week as a new ridge develops
over the western part of the region.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge lies over the area with a weak trough over the Goldfields during
the weekend. A pair of cold fronts will pass through the southern part of the
State during Monday and into early Tuesday as the trough starts moving eastward
again. Another ridge will establish itself later Tuesday and through Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 6 June
Possible showers over the Central West, northern Lower West, southern and
western Gascoyne, Goldfields and southwest South Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 7 June
Showers developing during the afternoon and evening near the west coast. Chance
of a shower over the northeast Gascoyne. Possible morning fog over the central
and western South West Land Division and southwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 8 June
Showers extending across the South West Land Division, southwestern Gascoyne,
far western Pilbara, Goldfields, southern Interior, and Eucla during the day.
Chance of a thunderstorm over western parts of the South West Land Division. A
period of moderate to heavy falls near the west coast during the afternoon and
evening. Windy across southern and central parts of the state.
Forecast for Tuesday 9 June
Showers extending across much of WA to be southwest of a line from Broome to
Giles, with showers more frequent south of Carnarvon. Possible thunderstorms
the south coast, northern Central West district, Southern Interior, eastern
Goldfields, and Eucla. Possible small hail south of a line from Augusta to
Bremer Bay. Morning fog possible over the northern Pilbara. Windy across
southern and central parts of the state.
Forecast for Wednesday 10 June
Showers near the west and south coasts, northeast Gascoyne, east Pilbara, far
southwest Pilbara and Interior. Possible morning fog over much of the Pilbara,
southwest Kimberley and western parts of the South West Land Division. Early
morning frost possible over much of the inland South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 1:45 am WST Sunday.
